There r no of small rivers in northern areas, and the main source of water is melting ice. Local govt and also the local people have built many small hydro power units,like i have seen in gilgit , naltar, skardu areas and many more places. These units are working well. Not only in northern areas but also in the lands of NWFP and Punjab we have a lot of water resources. The govt should consider these resources , and install large no these small hydro power units.These units dont require big dams but requires very small water storage, only to organize the flow of water. But unluckily the govt is spending money on their official trips, on their ministers, on their Swiss accounts etc. And dont have money for such type of developments. These small units dont require large investments. If the money lords invest their money in this business, they install no of these small units, not only they can help Pakistan by producing extra electricity but also can earn good income. Our young engineers needs to work / study this field, they talk to these money lords, motivate them. And i am sure by the help of Allah , hard work of our students / engineers and the financial investment of these money lords we will over come this problem.
